ICLU Attends the Third Annual International Conference on Post-Conflict Justice – September 11-13, 2024
We are excited to inform that ICLU was actively involved in the International Conference on Post-Conflict Justice, held from September 11-13, 2024 in Yerevan, Armenia. The conference was kindly organized by the Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJ). This prestigious event brought together global academic experts as well as practitioners to explore justice mechanisms in post-conflict societies through eleven specialized panels, each addressing critical issues such as reparations, gathering of evidence, accountability, reconciliation, and legal frameworks.
The Center for Truth and Justice was created in November 2020 in the course of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh and the genocide of Armenians. Its dedication is to promote transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in post-conflict settings. Their mission is to support truth-telling, legal redress, and the pursuit of justice to aid societies recovering from conflict. Through their work, they aim to ensure that human rights violations are acknowledged, survivors are heard, and peacebuilding efforts are grounded in justice.
Representing the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, Dr. Gurgen Petrossian and Darleen Seda contributed significantly to the discussions. Dr. Petrossian moderated several panels, facilitating in-depth discussions on transitional justice, while Anna Pacurar of the ICLU delivered thought-provoking presentations on material claims in post-conflict settings. These important contributions will be documented as part of an open-source publication, ensuring the knowledge shared at this conference is accessible to all.
We are proud of the impactful role our members played at this event and look forward to sharing the forthcoming publication that will encapsulate key insights and discussions.
